A song about singing

VERSE
Dm
I'd been driving for years
Am
Lost in foreign lands
C
Searching for answers
G
Some guiding hands

I'd gone cross country
Even lost the road
I was given directions
By people, far gone themselves

But it was in my darkest hour
That I heard her name
Whispered on the wind
And I was guided to a place

[More speaking]

The parking lot was packed
the queue went round the block
But a desperate man won't be denied
I found a window unlocked

I climbed into her chamber
And poured out my heart
Of how I'd lost my voice somewhere
She watched me in the dark

"Your problems obvious
You've forced your tone
Singing should be an effortless thing
Leave well alone"

After an hour together
I felt changes deep inside
And I walked out the door two inches taller
With words to reach the sky

CHORUS
And I could sing sing sing
Such a pure and simple thing
Go within
And let it ring

Yes I could sing sing sing
A recrowned king
I went within
And let it ring

VERSE
Her technique was simple
As light as love
An iron fist
Inside a velvet glove

She took away the parts
That were not me
Like Michaelangelo
Had done for David

With balanced tone
The right vibrations
Like a type rope walker
I had bold and new sensations

Our town is stable
Our town is strong

This is our town
Look at our town
It is our town
We love our town

Roll back the surveillance state

VERSE
E                                                  A
Big tech monopolies are on the march
E              Bf
Acting improperly

Working for the government and sucking us in
They capitalise on me

BRIDGE
A
I thought I was protected
C#m
Pretty much hid
A
But they've got more power
Bf
Than the Stasi ever did

CHORUS
E                        Bf                 C#m            A
But I don't want big brother deciding my fate
A                         Bf             E
Roll back the surveillance state

VERSE
The door doesn't swing both ways, I can't see back
But I've welcomed them into my home

Behind DRMs, and a legal maze
Now I can't even open things I own

BRIDGE
Am I sensor?
Or something to be sensed?
The smart cities watching
And they know I'm against

CHORUS
But I don't want big brother deciding my fate
Roll back the surveillance state

MIDDLE
A
I've seen the sum it
Bf
And no good can come of it
C#m            E
Stories like this always
A       Bf
End unhappily

Democracy dies
Everyone cries
Behind closed doors then
Descend dramatically

CHORUS
But I don't want big brother deciding my fate
Roll back the surveillance state

INSTRUMENTAL

VERSE (Quiet)
In a world without scarcity I'm doing alright
I've every necessity

Every need met and I've security
Except the basic right to be free

BRIDGE
I thought I was protected
Pretty much hid
But they've got more power
Than the Stasi ever did

CHORUS
But  I don't want big brother deciding my fate
Roll back the surveillance state

VERSE -  A F#m D E (spoken)
We could be living in paradise
Without war, hate, or money
Instead we made a prison
Outta materialism

But the way to freedom is simple
It's selfless service to others
Serve everyone you meet
In every way you can think of

But without love - service is work
So love everyone you meet
And live with joy in your heart
And climb out of the pit of ignorance

By putting love in action

The Numbers Game

What kind of life are we living?

Correlation's not causation
The truth is often hidden
My world is data-driven

Em
Nature's worth more dead than alive
C
It's a race to cut down the trees
D
Before somebody else does

BRIDGE
   C                           D
Where are our brains and imagination?
 G                 D/F#        Em
Smokestacks pumping out damnation
                                           C

Cos we have...

CHORUS

                        D
Racing to the bottom

How can we stop them?
Without co-operation
The tragedy of the commons
Unnecessary sadness

Multipolar madness
Walking to the Moloch Trap
How do we turn?
How do we turn?

And break the cycle
Not fulfill
The prediction
Of human extinction

VERSE
Wars are good for the economy
Pollution boosts our GDP
Its nuclear weapons or risk destruction

BRIDGE
What's good for others, is good because
It's long term good for all of us
Where are the glad and wise?
Instead, we have...

CHORUS

OUTRO
Do you mourn for Maldek?
Have fury at Lemuria?
And the conflicts of Atlantis?
Do you reminisce?

Free will vs Freedom
Within the law of karma
The madness of this
Moloch drama

Are we gonna rise up?
Are we going to stand?
Or are we going to fall?
Are we going to fail?

JUST LYRICS:

How on earth will we survive?
When nature's worth more dead than alive
It's a race to cut down all the trees
Before somebody else does

Wars are good for the economy
Pollution means higher GDP
We need nuclear weapons or risk destruction
AIs now an arms race

Where are our brains and imagination?
Smokestacks pumping out damnation
There's no way to prevent this
Cos we have...

Perverse incentives
To sacrifice values
Be more competitive
Racing to the bottom

How can we stop them?
Without co-operation
The tragedy of the commons
Externalised expenses

Unintended consequences
Suboptimisation
Our collective failure
Unnecessary sadness

Multipolar madness
Walking to the Moloch Trap
How do we turn?
How do we turn?

And break the cycle
Not fulfil, and fall into
The inevitable prediction
Human extinction

Antibiotics boost food production
Help dramatically with illness reduction
But resistant bacteria
Are more than hysteria

Fossil fuels make cheap energy
And a few people very rich
But eventually, we all pay for it
Even if we never used it

What's good for all, is good because
It's long term good for all of us
Where are the glad and wise?
Instead, we have...

Perverse incentives
To sacrifice values
Be more competitive
Racing to the bottom

How can we stop them?
Without co-operation

Have fury at Lemuria?
And the conflicts of Atlantis?

Free will vs Freedom
Within the law of karma
Hasnevitable conclusion
The madness of this Moloch drama

Are we gonna rise up?
Are hide?
Are we going to fail?
Are we going to fall?

Are we going to stand up?
Are fight?
Not be gonna be the ones?
Who walk into the night

The Healer

CHORUS
Am
Step aside for the healer

Flowing through you

Dm
Sendin' out the light
Pushin' out the love
E                       E7

An instrument of healing
Working for the one
Directly for  the sun

INSTRUMENTAL

Realisation is something
You can do

You're part of the one, the bigger sum

The Universal Law of the One and the Many

INTRO
From the One comes the Many and from the Many comes the One
Within the one is the potential for the many
And within the many, there is inherently the one.
In the subatomic world
In the astronomical world
And anywhere in between
Including all of human behaviour.

VERSE
In the Universe, expanding out
Forming super galaxy clusters
that will contract, back into the one

On the Earth – In Geology
Tectonic plates make a continent
Then disintegrate back, into individuality

In Oceanology, equatorial heat rises
And watery polar cool falls
Circulating, and redistributing resources

CHORUS
The more you force yourself to the many
The more nature forces you back to the one
Use...
this knowledge
Understand nature’s way, accept it and grow

VERSE
In the body – In Chemistry
Nucleophilic substitution or elimination
Many to one and one to many reactions

In Enzymology, enzymes catalyse
Anabolic and catabolic reactions To build and
destroy, to maintain metabolic equilibrium

In the nervous system, the parasympathetic anabolises
And the sympathetic catabolises
Autonomically, from one to many.

CHORUS
Understand this Law
Meet the needs of others
Not just your own
And you can make a vast difference
Change the entire  world

OUTRO
When everything outside's a reflection of what's inside you
You... will have mastered your life
You’ll have equity outside
Equanimity within
Be inspired by what you do
Become certain and present
And live
With love
And gratitude
